Apollo's History,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Apollo had many lovers, both male and female, and usually his romances end badly in either tragedy or revenge. Eros, after being told off by Apollo for toying with arrows, wounds Apollo with a golden arrow which causes him to fall in love with Daphne. Eros pricks Daphne with a leaden arrow which causes her to be repulsed by Apollo. As Apollo chases Daphne, she prays to Mother Earth,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or alternatively in some stories her father the river God, to rescue her. She is then turned into a Laurel tree which is sacred to Apollo.
Encyclopedia Mythica, "Apollo" (accessed May 10, 2010).
Apollo killed the dragon chthonic Python which lived near the Castalian Spring in Delphi, the spring that emitted vapors which helped the Oracle at Delphi to have her prophesies. Hera still tried to hunt down Leto, Apollo's mother. She sent the serpent Python to hunt down and kill Leto. Apollo tried to save his mother. He begged Hephaestus to make him a bow and arrows which he then used to kill Python. Hera then set the giant Tityos to rape and kill Leto. Apollo and Artemis joined forces and fought against Tityos. At the end of the battle, Zeus finally helped them out and sent Tityos down to Tartarus. In Tartatus, his liver was eaten by two vultures everyday.
When Hera discovered that Leto was pregnant by Zeus she was furious (even though Zeus had many affairs). Hera forbid Leto from giving birth on any land or island which forced Leto to wander the Earth for many months searching for a place to give birth. She finally found the floating island of Delos where she gave birth first to Artemis, the twin of Apollo, and then, with the help of Artemis as a midwife, she gave birth to Apollo soon after.

Who is Apollo?
Apollo is a long standing and central deity in Ancient Greek Mythology. God of the sun, light, music, knowledge, truth, and the lyre. Apollo is also the god of prophecy and is associated with the Oracle at Delphi where many great predictions were made. He is often depicted as a beardless, fit,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], handsome, young man (a beardless youth was also known as a kouros). Sacred to Apollo are the swan (which he is usually depicted riding on) the wolf and the dolphin.
Apollo also had many male lovers. One of them, Hyacinthus, was Spartan prince who he loved very much. While they were practicing throwing the discus together, the jealous Zephyrus blew Apollo's disc off course and it hit Hyacinthus in the head, killing him. Apollo was so grief stricken that he created a flower and named it after Hyacinthus as a memorial of his death.

Apollo's Lovers
Apollo is one of the most central of the Olympian God's. He is the God of light, knowledge,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], truth, and music. He is depicted as young, perfect, and handsome. But even though Apollo is very desirable, he never has any luck in love. He's had many lovers but his romances rarely ended happily. The objects of his love usually die or he gets revenge on them.
Cassandra was another of Apollo's loves. Cassandra wanted the power of prophecy and Apollo gave it to her in order to seduce her but she rejected him afterwords. Enraged, Apollo cursed her so that she only could see tragic prophecies and that no one would believe her when she told others of them.
